Care for some Creep?

Well, saying as I haven't been uploading any Cards or that sort of thing, I may as well show you what I have been doing. I doubt anyone here keeps on top of my DA account, but it has been rather busy. I've been practicing my Characters for my comic, so i've been constantly on the computer messing around with textures and different doodles.

The guy up top is Creep, you can click on the picture to view it properly. It's just a mock-up, I've already planned changes to him. He is quite odd, not really the full shilling. He somehow has an obcession with bugs and has tattoos of them here and there on his body, but at the same time, his paranoia and dellusions make him insanely scared of insects. He runs around in what most people sleep in, but maybe he's not fully aware of that. His patchy beard is rather hard to keep on top of, especially with the beetle tattoo lurking behind the busy bristles =[

Tuesday Taggers - Week 10 - Swirls and Curls

Yet another Challenge Blog my mum threw my way to get me going [really, I think she just loves my company and wants me to sit beside her bugging her for stuff and messing up her craft room all the time ;D]. Tuesday Taggers - Looked like fun so I gave it a shot.

For some reason I don't plan stuff a lot, I just go with the flow, so this somehow turned out to be a Spring-time theme.. I worry about myself sometimes.. The rabbit, the only way I can explain, is probably inspired by The White Rabbit from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - which is still stuck in my head for whatever reason. It took me quite a while to make him look anything less than sinister.

All background designs, drawings and wording by myself =]

The Corrosive Challenge Blog, Challenge #22

So, I was sitting over my lovely mum's shoulder while she was blog-hopping, and she suggested I check out TCCB, because it's apparently to my taste. And well, she was right as usual. I couldn't resist but to give their challenge a go. The theme was based on 80s Jem dolls. I decided to do a sort of pop-art take on my character Melly, who's only been featured on my DA account. Blue hair suits her =]

So anyway, yus this is my attempt [Pop-art explosion, face/mic and random doodles all by myself]:

Brilliant challenge if I do say so =]

Something Completely Different [Month 3 - Week 11]

I suppose there's no real excuse for my absence. I have been doodling quite a lot and have even encouraged a friend or two to give me a hand. So I will hopefully be putting some stuff up in the shop soon [and as I side note, I would also like to mention I've been had away with my CSS and HTML scripting to create a completely different, easy to use page for my selling].

Nevertheless, I'm here, and with a postcard covered in my own art =] As I just couldn't resist the challenge over at Something Completely Different

First of all, I'd like to mention it's completely inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Heart no Kuni no Alice [if you haven't heard of the latter, don't worry, not many have =D]. The Two characters are the [mad] Hatter, and the March Hare. The March Hare personified like with Heart no Kuni to be partly human. I should probably also say, for those interested, they are known as Blood Dupre and Elliot March in the manga.

The foremost centre image is Blood and Elliot and a tea-pot gushing tea, done with fine-liners, felt tips and a mix of a few pro-markers.

The background [just behind the first layer] was done with acrylic paint inspired by zooKa from DA.

And the furthest background is made up of cut playing cards and drawn playing cards [by myself]. Upon some are quotes from Carrol's book.

["Why is a raven like a writing desk?", "Twinkle Twinkle little bat, how I wonder what you're at. Up above the world you fly, like a tea-tray in the sky-" "Twinkle twinkle twinkle..." and the name of the postcard and chapter which features the two, "A Mad Tea-party."]

I also was inspired to place a few tea-rings, drips and butter stains. Brown shades in promarkers where used in the centre to create the illusion of the rabbit hole.

16th Birthday Card

Had to make my friend a card for her birthday as I mentioned before. I didn't have a lot of time to do it, but I managed to pull something off.

She loves the guitar and has a very vintage look, so I doodled a little image for the card a while ago which I thought I could use. Used Promarkers and chalks to colour it in. The Vintage-y scraps are cut from old Victorian-style cards and the Lace is Papercraft 4 U paper lace boarder. The card and red paper is from my mum's lovely stash!

She really loved it and we all had a great day out, so smiles all around!

Sorry

I've been pretty inactive recently - with good reason, I've JUST finished my GCSE's and was out celebrating yesterday with a bunch of my mates [Went to see Terminator - wasn't great lol]. But I have been doodling throughout the process and have come up with a bunch of new sketches, I've also set up a Paypal account and some of you may have noticed my new blog. I fully intend to have a business up and running in the coming weeks when I have time to tweek my images and make a few papers - so please look out for that.

And don't think to badly of me being so inactive - I've just had so much to do recently! Sorry!

I have a card to upload soon as well, which I made for my friend's 16th on Wednesday - so, yeah.

Keep crafting! And thanks for all your help and support - love you all!
